Summary:

With the support of the French Petroleum Institute (IFP), The EastWest Institute and the Madariaga European Foundation convened a conference to identify ways of handling current controversies in international energy relations. A particular reference point was the proposal that governments, together with the private sector and civil society, should develop mutually beneficial international energy frameworks to further integrate energy producing and energy consuming states and to rebuild confidence in international energy markets.
