The Louise Mossberg Internship
Louise Mossberg Memorial Fund
The EastWest Institute (EWI) is initiating a fund to provide 3-month paid internships at EWI to honor and celebrate the life of Louise Mossberg, the daughter of Ambassadors Mathias Mossberg and Ulrika Cronenberg-Mossberg of Sweden. After bravely fighting leukemia, Louise Mossberg passed away on 12 May 2006 at the age of 23.
The internships will provide outstanding students of merit and financial need the opportunity to work at EWI in Brussels, Belgium. Special attention will be paid to applicants from the Middle East. The next internship will begin in the summer of 2008, for which recruitment will take place from February to March 2008.
In the words of her family Louise "was an extremely warm person...who always took the side of the weak and the oppressed. For her all humans were equal, and all should be included. She could not tolerate discrimination. And she felt particularly strongly about peace and justice in the Middle East." The fund’s aim is to carry on Louise’s spirit and sense of fairness and justice in pursuit of a goal that her family believes she would have found valuable.
Interns will be selected based on their academic interests, professional aspirations, and commitment to the values of Louise Mossberg.
EWI will provide financial support to help recipients defray the costs of travel, lodging and living in Belgium for the three month internships at the EastWest Institute.
How to ApplyWe are not currently accepting applications for this Internship, but please check back at this page for future selections periods every February.
